Human ghosts are not powerful spirits

One imdb poster commented that the ghost in this movie has near-omnipotent tele-kinetic powers, which is not feasible. His religion holds that human ghosts are less powerful than living people.

Many professional ghost hunters or paranormal specialists have come to that same conclusion. Human ghosts are not the same as spirits like angels and fallen angels that God created. Human ghosts were never endowed with the same supernatural powers that say, angels possess. An angel possesses innate power to actually harm humans, in my theory, using concentrated light or microwave energy, since according to mythology, angels are composed of light photons. But God created the phsycial human body and soul as one being. The human soul continues to exist after its biological self permanently ceases life functions; awaiting the recreation of its biolgical self in the afterlife. It's not my intent here, though, to engage in religious dogma or belief. My point is I agree that human souls stranded on this physical earth cannot cause physical harm by tele-kinetics or psionics because - we don't have those powers to begin with! We're not angels or fallen angels. They have those powers not us.

Stranded human souls are in pain, a worldly hell of their own creation. The harm they cause with living humans can be physical but indirectly, from the emotional and psychological trauma such ghosts can induce in living human victims.

Many people do not believe in ghosts to begin with. I've never seen a ghost myself, but I've known of a few people who's credibility I trust implicitly, like my now-deceased parish priest - God rest his soul - who've told me of their 'unusual' encounters that leave the hairs on the back of my head standing up. The Roman Catholic Church takes a finessed view of human ghosts, a sort of, don't ask-don't tell, or, will not deny and will not confirm position. The Church believes that the human souls of the departed may - with God's permission - make themselves apparent to the living; anything else other that that is to be considered evil or diabolical.

You just sound like a massive tit!

What we are dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.

"You just sound like a massive tit!"

Speaking of massive tits, what's Erika Eleniak up to these days?

It's kind of hard to give rules to something that doesn't exist.

reply

Thats a whole lot of blah but I agree in that making the ghost too real takes away the scare factor. I mean she can even hit the ghost and the ghost fliches. Retarded.

reply

Exactly! Are we really going to hold it against a film for taking some "liberties" with a concept that may or may not be factual? I mean, if ghosts really do exist, then who is to say that there are ANY rules that they must follow? This is especially true for cinema ghosts. They are fabrication of something that has never been proven to exist anyway, so why not have a little fun with them!?

Those who have never seen ghosts, demons, or angels are the ones who say they do not exist.

Those who have come in contact....know what they saw.

Some who have never come in contact do have an open mind though, and say it is possible that they exist.

It's a movie dude.

maybe sometime after he died, he met up with your dead parish priest and got the inside scoop on stereotypical ghost behaviour and decided to mix it up a bit. dont be insulted, or upset, he did it just for you! :D

It's a movie. Vampires don't exist in real life either.
