also, I don't think Famke's character is supposed to be her forties in the movie...more like mid thirties, I'm thinking. Plus, do they actually state his age in the movie?

Either way, I didn't have a problem with it at all. It's a natural activity and he was of age...

yes Marnie is supposed to be in her 30's (Famke's characters are almost always supposed to be younger than she really is..kinda the reverse of the usual)

Not offensive whatsoever. If it wasn't for the part where the ghost kills him, he'd be the luckiest guy alive. ;)

She is one of the most beautiful women on the planet of any age.
People need to stop getting stuck up on age differences, no-one seems to care that guys can date/marry girls old enough to be their daughters but when a sexually active, intelligent woman fancies a younger guy then it's perverted?

Trust me, most of my memorable moments as a young guy were with older women, women who knew exactly what they wanted, didn't play games and worked at making you 'happy'.
I just wish one of them had been Famke :-)

yeah Famke is a beauty...age of consent is 16 in Canada too- so it's not that radical up here. I thought he was probably between 17-19 in the movie and she was probably supposed to be 35-40

I'm about FJ's age, but when I was 20, I would probably have crawled through broken glass and raging fire for one roll in the hay with FJ, whether she was 30 or 44.

this is a reply to the whole subject not the person above my reply but i did not know how to do it anyway first of all she is a beautiful woman famke ke ed is hot young and sweet as hell especially in this movie in which he is 20 or 21 since it was 2 years ago and he is 23 almost i think so the 20 and more years do not show i was not sure of her true age under 40 over 40 it was a great sex scene the relationship in the movie was sweet it was mutual the moment they met and i thought they had me that since she ignored her host husband she had won i was so sad ed\s character died like that but on the scene it was great he was even younger so who would resist just to hang out with a woman like that and for a woman to hang out with such a yummy young man so there was nothing offensive also if they considered this offensive what about the read with kate winslet and her role having sex with a 15 year old and exploit him like a sex object in the movie and the scenes betweeb them that was ok? just saw the movie it was pretty interesting scary and i just hated the way ed's character died it was horrible!

If you're legal, then you're old enough. There's no reason for an arbitrary number to offend me. I'm all for cougars, and to see Famke going there in character gives me a little bit of false hope!

What I have an issue with though is; how does a kid who's six years younger than me in real life get paid to simulate that?! Yet more evidence that life isn't fair, and some guys do truly get all the luck!

PS - There's no way Famke was playing a 43yr old... and she certainly isn't 43 in real life!
