Don't know what happened but I kind of figured we wouldn't see Max Weinberg back on Conan's new show. I think it's similar to Kevin Eubanks leaving Leno. They probably enjoy having steady work at a late night show but it can't be a very stimulating profession for a musician. And maybe some things were said in the process.

yikes. People need to move on sometimes (even if it is a beloved team Coco job), so that seems a bit harsh. It's not like they are orphaned children without him. I love LaBamba, but I woulda kept my mouth shut. People would have figured it out eventually.

Thats a pity if they have fallen out.

Max came back for one of the the New York dates so they must still be on good terms?

I mentioned this before on another post, but I watched the April 29th showing of Conan's tour in San Diego. After the show, a group of us were waiting outside hoping for a chance to meet Conan. First La Bamba came & then Pender. Then someone randomly asked Pender, "Where's Max???" Pender shrugged & said, "From what I've heard, he went to the other side..." And that's pretty much all he said about the matter. I guess you can take it however you want, but it didn't sound too good when he said it.

I had heard stuff but ignored it you know how rumors are. They were together a while *beep* like what happened does cause issues though.

No really Jay Leno took my homework!

Yeah, I also had a feeling there might be something up with Max, but you never know, I guess that tweet could potentially be taken in other ways. But maybe not. I really hope Max comes along with them to TBS, though. It would really suck for him to throw away so many years of them working together. And Max went to one of Conan's shows, too, didn't he?

reply

Are you serious people. He is just saying don't go to a Max Weinberg show expecting to see the Conan's band.

Just as if you were watching Futurama, you shouldn't expect to see Homer there.

Max lives on the east coast. Conan's shows since leaving 12:30 have been on the west coast. He probably didn't want to have to relocate.
