I cried like a baby.

This movie was nothing like I expected it to be. I was going in for a comedy, like so many others, but got the sweet but sad story that this movie is.

I don't know if it was just other things going on or what, but I've never cried so much in a movie. The Home Depot Scene just killed me!

I didn't cry, but there were some very sad parts where I was fighting it back. All the stuff with Walter, plus when Martin Sheehan's character finally forgave Burke (especially right after Burke's confession).

me too. the losers who are over analyzing the film for the technical, cliche, or acting ability. clearly forgot what movies are all about. losing yourself in the story and emotion. its a natural human emotion to cry when you lose a loved one. watching this movie can bring out all the emotions you may have had for losing a loved one and never fully dealing with it. If all you want to do is bash this movie, maybe you dont know what it feels like. maybe you just can not relate whatsoever. but at least grow up and stop acting like a snobby hollywood movie critics.

The part when Burke talks about the accident that killed his wife had me sobbing, and the part when he and his father-in-law reconcile was very touching too.

I didn't cry, but was really fighting it back there a few times. I was surprised how good this movie was. It wasn't a typical rom-com. It was a drama with a few light moments, but not a romantic comedy (and a bad cliche one at that) at all.

Same here I was bawling! It was so unexpected but really well acted I loved it. I thought it would be good, like a rom/com, but not as good as it turned out to be. I love it when that happens.

Yeah, I was really surprised what this movie turned out to be. Pleasantly surprised. So much deeper/better than just a fluff movie. Flew under the radar.

There were several tear-jerker moments, but talking about the death of Walter's child got to me. There is no death like that of a child and the "normal" venues of grief therapy just don't work. It was not a typical ROM-COM, that's for sure.
