Notes from the Underbelly

If you're missing The Wedding Bells, then I recommend the new show Notes from the Underbelly on ABC. It isn't a substitute for The Wedding Bells, but it has the same wit and hilarious, well put together characters.

It's kind of a cross between Scrubs and The Wedding Bells, but only The Wedding Bells would be called The Pregnancy Bells, LOL.

Oh yeah, and you can guarantee that it won't get cancelled after the first 4 episodes, because it's on a steady station, ABC, that doesn't cancel half of it's good shows *cough* FOX *cough*.

Do I need to mention "Help Me Help You" and "Day Break", 2 of the better new shows this year? Both on ABC, both canceled. Every network cancels shows people like. Fox may have less patience, but they also have less prime time hours. I'm not surprised this got canceled, I'm pretty sure Fox skews more male than female, except maybe for "American Idol". And I am pretty sure "Notes From The Underbelly won't make it past 12 episodes either.

Day Break sucked balls, and what's Help Me Help You? Notes from the Underbelly is now in its 2nd season and is already past the 12th episode. :)

Day Break was great, at least from what I saw of the first 4 or 5 episodes. I have yet to see the whole thing. It was popular enough to get a DVD release with a lot of extras, including commentary and info on where the show was going. Help Me Help You was a show last year with Ted Danson of Cheers fame playing a therapist. It had a very funny supporting cast as well. Yes, this show did somehow make it past 12 episodes, but so did a ton of things, mostly because of the writer's strike, and the fact that the networks needed whatever they had written to be shown or else they would be showing repeats for every time slot. The first season of Notes from the Underbelly was only 8 episodes. The second season, which so far has only been 7 episodes, has only one episode unaired, with no mention of an upcoming air date. Although not "officially" canceled yet, it is unlikely that there will be anymore episodes of this produced. So at most this show will have 15 or 16 episodes. I think my prediction of 12 episodes would have held lad there not been a writer's strike.
