Where´s the prez?
Anyone else wonder what the president is doing? I mean apart from living in his lavish underground bunker, eating the secret service when real food runs out. Surely, there must be plan for re-establishing order.....

A plan to re-establish order could only be implemented if there had been some preparation for the catastrophe beforehand. From what we see in The Road it seems that whatever had devastated the Earth had caught people by surprise. The Man only starts filling the bathtub with water after "the event" takes place. The Woman didn't seem to know what was going on, she simply asked "Why are you taking a bath?"
I assumed the president and his staff never made it to the bunker. For all we know, the president could have been overseas at the time.
True, although the lack of surprise from the man and his wife when "the incident" starts, leads me to believe that they knew something big was about to happen.
