Is there a chance?

Why would ABC cancel the show and then replay passed episodes on friday nights? No other canceled shows are even being aired on the network, and I have never heared of a canceled show gettign this much air time(especially since they are showing old shows). I can see buning off new shows, but not reruns. Now ABC canceled Better Off Ted, after deciding to keep it. So, my question is, are they giving it a tryout now to keep it?

reply

Maybe? Good question! Maybe they're seeing how many viewer's they're getting with airing the re-runs?

I hope so. It seems that all nearly all my favorites have been canceled. And I really liked this one.

I doubt it :( ABC had announced the rerun plan before the decision to cancel had been made. My guess is that with summer programming so scarce they just decided to keep with the plan and use the reruns as a lead in to the eventual burn off of the "new" episodes starting June 25th.
Ausiello mentioned in his latest blog the possibility of a cable channel being interested but he's the only person to have suggested this and a similiar such hope for "My Name is Earl" fell through last week.

family guy was canceled after second or third season but after FOX saw the dvd sales are high they decided to pick it up again.

so anything can happen.

Animation and live action comedies are very different beasts. More than likely if this is cancelled, it will stay cancelled at the point. Which is sad since Christina just scored an emmy nomination for Samantha Who?

reply

maybe.. we never know.. take a part in trying to make it possible.
