worst sitcom

ever.

TBbt was the death of the good american sitcom. Anything before was better.

reply

I disagree. TBBT was good. There were worse sitcoms before and after.

reply

Worse Troll ever!

reply

I thought it was very good until they introduced Sheldon's girlfriend, who is easily my pick for most annoying character in tv history.

Most sit com shows tend to degenerate at some point, normally right about the half life of the run. I love the first five seasons and skip anything from that point on, but Amy wasn't the cause specifically (and she came on in the third season I believe).

Bialik was awful as Amy in the first dozen or so episodes - more like a badly programmed 1950s robot than a geeky nerdy PhD girl. Eventually, either she or the directors straightened her out. There were some very good episodes with Amy, but I don't watch anything in the later years, and never saw the finale.

12 years of high ratings seems to counter that.

reply

I don't know if I would say ANYTHING before it was better, but MOST things both before and after it are better. It definitely earned its place amongst the worst of all time, in my opinion of course.

reply

True. So it's not just me that finds this the dumbest show ever? I mean if real nuclear physicists was actually this dumb we'd be in trouble.

reply

The only episode that truly infuriated me was when the guys go to see the soulless A New Hope remake called The Force Awakens and they fanboy all over themselves over it. The writers seriously need to apologize for that.

reply

WHY?...THAT MOVIE WAS GOOD.

reply

Uhhhh that movie was horrible. Nothing but a recycled version of a much better movie that had all of the fun sucked out of it and replaced with obvious on the nose fan service and stupid mystery boxes that had nothing in them.

But I guess I get it, at the time they were just going with the flow and riding the bandwagon, but now that they’ve had time to think about it they need to apologize and admit they were wrong.

reply

I LIKE THE FORCE AWAKENS...SOLID FLICK.

reply

I DON’T LIKE THE FORCE AWAKENS…CRAP FLICK.

reply

OUR OPINIONS ARE DIFFERENT!....WANT TO KNIFE FIGHT OVER IT?🔪🙂

reply

No, I don’t solve my problems with violence.

reply

WELL...THAT ONLY LEAVES SEX...OK...LETS DO IT!🍆

reply

Uh I don’t even know if you’re a dude or a chick.

reply

WHY WOULD THAT MATTER?🤔

reply

Because I’m not gay.

reply

I AM NOT GAY EITHER...WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH US HAVING SEX?🤨

reply

If you’re a guy and we had sex then it would be gay. I don’t know your gender.

reply

NO...NOT IF YOU AREN'T GAY...IT WOULD JUST BE SEX....DERR.

reply

Uhhhhhh yeah it would. I didn’t say that would make me gay but the act itself would be by definition.

reply

YOU'RE REPRESSED.🙂

reply

YOU ARE A REAL SWEETHEART...BUT...ANY IDEA HOW MUCH MORE FOREPLAY THIS DEAL IS GONNA REQUIRE?🤔

reply

Ahem. On behalf on today's enlightened society, I would like to say that you're being discriminatory by eliminating half of the population by gender.

reply

Yeah, because I don’t want to put my penis in another guy’s butt that obviously means I’m homophobic.

reply

ABSOLUTELY,IT DOES.

reply

Or buttholeaphobic - just as egregious.

reply

Yep, I am clearly a “stick your penis in a vagina supremacist”

reply

LMAO...YOU'VE NEVER DONE THAT.😂

reply

OK this conversation is turning very weird.

reply

🍆🌽

reply

A HOLE IS A HOLE IS A HOLE.🙂

reply

I still enjoy this sitcom.

reply

I watch any of the episodes from the first four seasons and a lot of them from season 5. Nothing after that. The early episodes are really funny.

reply

In my opinion, in every season there are good chapters and although you are right saying that the first four or five seasons were pretty good I enjoyed this show until the end.

reply

I'm sure a lot of people love the later shows. The ratings were still strong at the end as far as I know.

The change as I see it was the early episodes were based on their peculiar geeky foibles that most people aren't privy to. Later, it just seemed to become a regular sitcom (of which I'm really not a fan). Still, I understand that you can only do so much making stories about the atypical behavior of highly intelligent but otherwise socially awkward characters without running into the same jokes or situations time and again.

I kind of look at this like Happy Days. The first couple of seasons were about the '50s and were funny, charming, and had a lot of heart. Later, it became a typical network studio audience sitcom that just happened to take place in the '50s. Maybe they ran out of '50s specific humor.

The Simpsons is still going strong, but I'll watch every episode through season 12, and a few up to 15, but nothing after that. To be fair, I haven't seen a single episode past 18, but other early Simpsons fans who have say there was no improvement in later years, so I won't bother.

To each their own.
