During an appearance at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California on Saturday, star Johnny Galecki told reporters that the popular CBS sitcom was most likely going to end in season 12.

“The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping has been that we’re all going to be very sad when that day comes,” Galecki, 42, said according to TVLine. “But I think at this point everyone’s very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families.

Well they did a last season years ago... but it is time to wrap up. Penny had better get a big movie role, or produce a movie.

reply

I wanted to see Sheldon be a dad. Raj get married. Stewart win the lottery and yes, Penny gets a part in a big movie.

reply

With the new showrunner it hasn't been as funny as it used to be so I guess it can end now.

reply

I can only hope the series will survive this season.

Personally, I’m glad to see the show end. It’s time.

Most shows have anywhere between eight or ten seasons, except The Simpsons. I love TBBT, but I didn’t want it to end up like The Simpsons. I liked The Big Bang Theory better when it was just Howard, Raj, Sheldon, Leonard and Penny. They should’ve made Leonard and Penny wait until the very last episode to get married. Seasons one to four were excellent. The rest of the show was a hit and miss after that.
I think the only reason the show is so successful is because of Jim Parsons. If any other actor played Sheldon, it wouldn’t have the same vibe or possibly even the same chemistry between all the characters.

I'm fine with it ending, but I hope that they actually wrap up some loose threads like Howard's father, and maybe for the last season, cut down on ads and give us longer episodes where they can have some meat.

There is one symbolic thing I would like to see included in the TBBT finale to signal that the show is ending and that would be the surprise installation of a brand new elevator.

reply

The elevator!!!

Yes, maybe at the end as they move out right at the end.

reply

They're definitely going to save the elevator for the series finale.

I think it's time that they start preparing to conclude "TBBT". Leonard got the hot girl from down the hall, Howard is married and has kids, Sheldon overcame a lot of obstacles in his life and is going to be married himself, Raj is...not sure, maybe the writers will add a twist and make him come out of the closet by the end, and Stuart has a better comic book shop after the fire.

I don't mind if it ends after twelve seasons. Lorre's other show "Two and a Half Men" ran for 12 years on CBS as well.

I like green eggs and ham.

It appears to be the last season. Especially since no one is watching it anymore.

reply

Sad, but hopefully we will still have "Young Sheldon".

Agreed, I really like that show.

God, I wish it would end. It hasn't been funny for years. Lately, it's mostly about the shrew Bernadette sitting in bed, insulting her husband. To hell with completism; I just need to quit watching.
