Just noticed about Sheldon in next week's preview.

It shows him scared to open the bottle of wine.
But a few seasons ago he opened an old bottle of wine like that only so he can enjoy the cork popping off. (Episode where they clean out a deceased colleagues office)

Maybe they'll "explain" that with another story about Sheldon popping open a bottle of wine in his youth and someone getting hurt, which doesn't mesh with previous episodes; the same way this week's "explanation" of his knocking three times since he was a kid, doesn't match up with his early (season 1) behavior of knocking once.

Wasn't that a champagne bottle in the preview? I don't remember the bottle from the prior episode, but there is obviously a difference between opening a bottle of wine and a bottle of champagne.

Could be. But both bottles are ones that the cork pops or flies off.

I don't think wine bottle corks "pop" off like champagne corks- wine drinkers, correct me if I'm wrong? The champagne is pressurized/carbonated and wine is not....?

You are correct. In fact, sometimes a regular wine cork doesn't ever want to come off. 🍷

But as far as Sheldon is concerned, it's a bottle with a cork in it. And who knows what's been going on inside that bottle all this time? Why, ANYTHING could happen! Put on your eye goggles, or maybe even a full face mask, and prepare to use the robot hands from behind the protective barrier!
