So we're done with Emily and Claire??

I thought they said they had made Laura a regular on the show?? Obviously not I guess. According to Raj in the hot tub it was their choice so I guess both girls dumped him. I really thought they had some kind of storyline brewing with this love triangle. Maybe they're just trying to make you think that it's over?? I could be wrong. It just seems so strange to me that after all that the writers abruptly end the whole arc and make him single again.

Pretty lame way of doing it if that turns out to be the case. They can't dedicate a half an episode to wrap up that storyline?

reply

Sounds like either 1) they screwed up thinking they knew how to write that in or 2) they listened to all the whining about too many characters.

Yeah, that was unexpected the way they handled it. I also thought that Raj was going to spill the beans to Stuart about the sex of the Wolowitz baby and that's how we would find out.

In case you're wondering, I'm female.

Not really a first for the show. They originally dismissed Bernadette in season 3 in only one line before they figured out they would need her back in season 4.

The writer's on this show are like a kid in a room full of toys with their story lines. They just drop one and move on to the next . Closure is a foreign concept to them.

Sometimes I feel that they don't give a shìt about Raj. His whole storyline was dragged out and proved to be nothing more than an afterthought for them.

My hope is that one of them will return, with him apologizing for how he acted and promising to not do that again, with her becoming his girlfriend and that lasting awhile. Then Emily finds out about it via the grapevine so she stays out of the picture.

They might have a flashback later with both of the actresses making guest appearances where it's all "Explained." But I don't much care because it probably won't be very funny.

reply

I think the writers had no idea what to do with the situation and ofcourse it saves money not having to pay the 2 actresses so there is more money for the rest of the cast.

It was an incredibly stupid way to handle it. I can't stand Emily, although I like the actress well enough, and I wanted her gone. But I didn't want Raj just saying he was suddenly single. I did like Claire. I am disappointed that they went in such a stupid direction. It looks like they are leading up to Stuart being Raj's best friend again and it's never turned out that well when they go there. Stuart needs his own storyline about finally having success at something. Then they can tie it in by having the other characters react to it. If he moves in with Raj, I don't think it's going to be funny.

they got with Dr. Stephanie and Alex and formed a girl band.

Let's add Lucy to that list...

If they add Ramona, too, they can make up quirky songs and be endearing. 

And call themselves The Ramonas?

And argue over which other band member is her girlfriend?

They said that last year. It's possible it was just a one season thing.

reply

It was barely an arc to begin with.
