The killer's motive? (spoilers)

Sorry if I missed this, but did they ever explain why the killer was cutting off limbs? I get the fingers and hand since he was a piano teacher, but why the leg? And why just the right side?

Was he just killing his students? Did he go after Aubrey because she was his student or because she quit? I'm guessing because she quit, so did that mean the other girl quit, too? You would think the FBI would be able to connect two girls with the same piano teacher.

I felt like the FBI brought up a lot of theories about the killer that they left just hanging in the end.

That's one of the many, MANY problems with this movie. His entire reasoning for going after all these girls is that.......are you sitting down.........

...they didn't want to play piano anymore.

I am not making that up. That is the reason they give for Norquist killing all the girls.

The FBI characters are completely useless. You could cut them out of the movie entirely and nothing would change. They just exit the movie with 30 minutes left, even though the investigation is still unsolved.

It bewilders me how anyone can like this movie. There are at least half a dozen plot holes you could fly an AC130 through. The villain is a joke. The supporting characters are all unnecessary except for maybe the mother and father. Even the title of the movie makes absolutely no sense. It should have been titled: I Eventually Deduced Who Injured My Twin.

Haha, yes, this movie was really bad. I tend not to watch these movies very carefully and I was just mildly curious as whether I missed some significant part of the plot or there simply was none. Apparently, it was the latter. And I was most certainly not going to watch it again to find out. Thanks for your reply.
