Disappointing

I was SO excited that this show was coming back but it's so so BLAH. None of the drama of the first season, just these bad attempts at comedy. I mean, this prank war episode? What is this, Saved by the Bell? C'mon, let's get some drama and cliffhangers.

The drama is obvioulsy building.

reply

I don't think they're building up to anything. I think they've changed the tone of the show into more of a lighthearted one.

reply

I only watched this show for the over exaggerated intensity! And now they're having pillow fights! I want to see some hair pulling.

gotta say i thought the first season of TBY was kind of a joke and had some bad writing, but at least it was interesting.

The first season wasn't perfect by any means, but at least it was never boring. This season is horrible. I got my mom hooked on the first season and she's watching the second season with me and she hates it too! Lol. I don't like direction it's going in at all.

"Krueger!"
"Well, it ain't Dr. Seuss."

reply

To be honest between the first and second season the changes were soooo big that it seems we're seeing 2 completely different shows... I like the first one better!

Regresa tu mirada... que ya no me desarma... Yo ya no te quiero nada

The drama was so AMAZING in the first season! I mean, a dude died on the FIRST episode on the FIRST season! Good stuff! Now, eh, it's just a show to watch!

I WITNESSED the death of THE COOL

I loved the first season. Granted, there were things that were a bit unrealistic, but still, for the most part it was a good show.
But this season is just utterly horrible! I have stopped watching it, it's so bad.
I was so glad when I heard they were bringing it back, but they shouldn't have even gone ahead with the second season if they knew they were going to completely change everything we loved about the show. The writing is just horrible and there were so many unanswered questions from the first season that they just didn't care to address.
I hate Samantha in this season. She is totally not the same girl from the first. They should just go ahead and cancel the show again. What a complete and utter failure.

reply

no dude, the first season was good but SOOO cliche! this season has more depth to it. i mean, yeah at times the characters can go a little south, but Noah's still awesome, Del is really cool, Sam is in more love tailspins then ever (well...not really ever...but..whatev)

i liked season 2 a lot. i thought it was all right. they just need to find a really good writer. the actors are cool, but sometimes the writing just falls short.

reply

Cliche? Hardly! Cliche implies bad writing, and let me tell you, the writing in season 1 was SO much better than season 2. Not to mention the fact that Samantha was genuinely in love with Trent more than anyone else. Like I wrote in another post, Rich seemed like just a replacement because he didn't care about Sam the way Trent did, and they had nothing in common whatsoever.

Noah needs to get his morals and intelligence back, and Kat needs to keep on growing. I firmly believe that she's the only character that made any sort of progress during season 2 with her decision to take control of her own life whereas Noah and Sam took large steps back; so far back that both of them are nearly unrecognizable from season 1. Noah no longer considers others feelings with a touch of intelligence, and Sam has become superficial, instinctive, unintelligent and whimsical.

It's nice that you enjoyed season 2, but you are wrong about Sam being in love - and season 1 being cliche. At least it had rock solid storylines.

reply

hey, i never said anything about Sam being in love. I said she was in love tailspins.

i too liked Trent a hell of a lot more than all of her other love interests combined. i just thought that the new characters were kind of cool and some of the sh*t that happened last season were kind of stale.

reply

Um..in love tailspins? Er..

At least the situations were entertaining, ya know? Not to mention real because life isn't just a bed of roses. The writing was really inconsistent this season and the new characters were stereotypes gone bad. But then season 2 was too short to give them much depth, so meh.

I think all of the "fun stuff" this season could have been implemented with season 1 like writing. At least we'd get quality and genuine realism.

reply

i felt the same way. i even gave it time for the drama to unfold but it didn't happen. this season was nothing compared to the first season
