Are the writers different from Season 1 and Season 2

I liked both seasons but its like Season 1 and Season 2 aren't even the same show. Completely different. I am glad they turned Cat's character from *itchy in Season 1 to God-Fearing and mature in Season 2. I liked the new characters as well. But its a huge difference between the two its like they are not from same series.
