I don't quite understand (one question)

Not sure about the photos. But in a later scene, Linney's character shows him a portrait she painted of Jules, and it looks like Hopkins. Maybe we are to assume the brothers were very similar physically, and they used Hopkins as a model for the dead character in both the painting and perhaps the photos too.
