Which langauge are the cops speaking?

Beacuse it's certainly not a Bosnian, Serbian nor Croatian (or any mixture of the three). It kind of bothers me due to the inaccuracy. I'm refering, of course, to the cops who are apparantly supposed to be Bosnian. Anyone recognized it?

This thread it dead but I'm just watching the movie right now on Netflix and I came here to see if anyone else was bothered by this.

I'm Bosnian and if I focused REALLY REALLY hard I could pick up a few words but honestly it sounded like they are making stuff up. lol
I understood more of the dialogue among the Ukrainian girls in the opening scene.

They could have just hired Serb/Croatian/Bosnian actors who could actually pronounce their lines.

I just watched it and I speak a little Russian and some of it was definitely in Russian. But only a word here and there.
Good, please, no, how.
Simple words. Confusing because then I didn't know what language was being used at other times.

Exactly! It really bugs me. I think the entire crew and supporting cast is from Ukraine (where the film was filmed, incidentally) and they gave them the script to butcher the words however they wanted to. Did you try putting on the subtitles? Lol! Now that took some talent to be able to mess it up that badly! Otherwise anok film. I think I gave it extra points just for Rachel Weisz`s powerful performance.

The cops are played by Romanians, as the whole movie was shot in Romania (except for a few very small scenes, like the UN lobby).
The problem is it's mixed, most of the time it's Romanian (when it's ad-libbed), but when Viko testifies in court, it's something else (probably scripted, probably Bosnian).
