Serious question. Do they like flushing their money down the toilet?

I don't quite get how scripts like this even get accepted by anyone.

Does a bear sh_t in the woods? Sorry, bad bear joke. But on a serious note, I think this might be one those textbook F-you money type movies. That's the only explaination for the existence of this movie I could think of.

Do you mean to say this movie was made for it's artistic merits? It's wildlife preservation and environmental impact message? Or was it just to give some aspiring film makers the experience and employment?
