The sister is also more than a little mad....

Thinking about the movie, it suddenly struck me that the sister was a little mad as well.

Remember the scene where she is talking to the other doctor and telling him about the camcorder? She tells him "EVERYBODY knows what happened." and then goes on about how the camcorder recorded the fatal stab wound to the leg. BUT when Goa Jing watches the video, it cuts off just as she drops the recorder when she begins to spasm, which is what you expect would happen. It is unbelievable that a loose camcorder would somehow get the precise and exact angle to film her stab Goa Dong.

And if "EVERYBODY knows what happened.", then how are they to keep Goa Jing sooner or later from finding out?

My own take on it is that Jing did get nitrogen poisoning, that Goa Dong did come to her rescue, that the sister did get hold of Jing and take her to the surface. But, Goa Dong never surfaced with them. I am sure the sister thought he was right behind them, but something happened, and he disappeared.

I think the sister cannot handle the fact that nobody knows what happened to her brother, and unconsciously blames Jing. So......when the camcorder was found showing Dong coming to Jing's aid, the sister just mentally filled in the blank with the stabbing. That way, she has a "reason" for his non-appearance, and also a certainty of his death, which is easier to bear than the horror of never knowing what happened.
