Wonderfull use of special effects...

My question is, did they have a special effects budget?

Let me set the scene for you...
They are discovered by rescuers and talk them into going after the Yeti that has capture the leads wanna be GF. They walk to the Yeti cave and set up their trap. Pointy sticks in the snow.

Did anyone else notice the PENCIL being used as one of the pointy sticks?

If you taped it (as we did on our DVR) and you go to time marker 1 hr 39 minutes.

Also after the Yeti's come out, get shot, and fall onto the pointy sticks, when the camera pulls back did anyone else notice the prefect rectangle that was apparently dug... even though when they were placing the pointy sticks it appeared to be on the level ground???

Anyone that says this was even a marginally good movie should seriously have their head checked out at the local funny farm...

Unless you are saying that this should be and would have been one of the best MST-3k movies of all time!!!

I look forward to watching these movies late at night as I enjoy low budget Sci Fi/Horror. This will be a classic.

I like the part at the end where the Yeti (around 300 lbs. I would guess) is holding onto the guys leg from a cliff. The young girl thrusts a harpoon/chain into its gut, and then a huge bolder is pushed off the edge. The guy should have fallen also right? - nooooo. I also like how they cut out the lower half of the Yeti so no one would see he was actually standing on the ground.

DID NO ONE CATCH THE PENCIL???

I only watched the end of the film, but plan on watching the movie when it airs again so I can watch the pencil at 1:39 I believe was mentioned.

Basically right after the survivors convince the rescuers that they have to go save the damsal in distress. Just look for when they are setting the pointy stick trap.

Actually it wasnt a pencil, while this is perhaps the most inadvertantly funny movie ive ever seen, the "pencil" was actually the handle of the prop pickaxe, if you notice in the following scene when the qb is using the pickaxe, the handle resembles a pencil, and its the same as one of the spikes.

Who cares? Why do people watch for the smallest of the small things in movies? Particularly low budget flicks. I remember one thread some guy came on the board and mentioned how a certain water level was 2CM wrong from how it should be.

I mean what the hell? No wonder people dislike movies a lot when they sit there glued to the TV trying to pick up on small and I mean teeny details, what ever happened to turning your brains off when watching a movie, grabbing some munchies, relax in your recliner and laugh yourself stupid or if it is a totally scary flick (in my case be entranced in it) but some may be scared by them.

Where did they get that outfit for the Yeti??

I was waiting for Braden McLaren to say SPD Emergency and morph into a Power Ranger that Yeti costume and special effects was cheesy.

I especially like how sometimes the Yeti walks through the snow with a lot of effort, yet other times he is able to hop around on it like he's walking on water. If I was able to hop around on the surface I sure as hell would choose that against walking slowly & sinking in.

LOL yes I also noticed the "pencil" which is indeed the handle of a pickaxe - you can see the rescue guy hand it to Mr. Football jock guy a few scenes before. Then they put pointy sticks in front of the Yeti's cave on more or less level ground, go get the girl and get the two Yetis to chase them and they both fall into the suddenly large rectangular hole with much smaller pointy sticks (and no "pencil").

This is one of my favorite "so bad it's good" flicks, made extra hilarious by just how seriously the cast and crew seem to be in making an "awesome scary" movie.
