Pace of film

I found this film slow, much too slow for my enjoyment. Patricia Clarkson plays the role with a perpetual smile that is somehow completely unreal because of its omnipresence. It is one of her least appealing roles. If she hated Egypt so much, she should have gone home, not lingered out of boredom. Her husband seemed to me to be a bit dissheveled for a UN executive and I felt they were ill paired. The beauty of the city was the star and the film had little else to commend it.I was itching for something to happen and supposed something would be made of the young woman's passing of the letter on the bus,but that was soon dismissed and the film lapsed into its uneventfulness.I would definitely not recommend it

I also found it EXTREMELY slow, and Clarkson's talents wasted on too many "poses." The worst thing was-- to me--the Gaza-bound bus stopped by Israelis-IT MADE NO SENSE!!! Buses form Cairo to Gaza go nowhere near Israel..I felt it was only there to make Israeli soldiers look like *beep* that pissed me off! Why????....To me, it ruined the whole thing and should be eihter deleted, or make the soldiers Hamas!!!

I don't know why you think the soldiers were Israli--
they were just soldiers--there were no identifying patches on their uniforms

Actually, the soliers were Israeli. Their jeep had hebrew writing on the side, but the scene went by too quickly for me to read what it said. And I have to agree with you guys. This movie was slow paced, boring, nothing happened, and a waste of Patricia Clarkson's talent.

The pace was perfect. You're both nuts. Best movie of the year so far.

Don't need to. Already say it last Month. I liked 'I Am Love', Tilda Swinton was great. It's just not that impressive to me, not in the same class, no way.

Now, 'Le Concert', I have not seen. Never seen a Radu Mihaileanu movie. Never had the chance.
Let me clarify: Cairo Time is the best movie of the year so far that I've hasd the chance to see.
There.
