Why would Canada need to protect its borders from terrorists?
The terrorists would only go through Canada to get to the US.

In real-life, Canada has been said to have many terror groups active on its soil. Due to allegedly lax immigration and customs, as well as the protective rights that come with being a Canadian Citizen via the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, terrorists plan their activities in Canada, and then infiltrate the US, or fly in and out between Canada and overseas. The whole "Multicultural" approach to immigration and citizenship makes it easier for overseas terrorists to blend in within Canada, while in America, those who keep to themselves, or don't conform tend to stand out, speaking from a very broad approach to Canadian/American differences.

Moronic US politician routinely claim that 9-11 hijackers got into the USA from Canada, and their presence was due to Canada's criminally lax immigration control.
In fact, as anyone who did even a little bit of homework would have known, all the 9-11 hijackers were present in the USA due to the USA's problems with immigration control.
Around 2007 or 2008 both Hilary Clinton and Newt Gingrich made this claim. Our ambassador at the time used to phone up each US politician who made this claim, and quietly set them straight. He contacted both Clinton and Gingrich. Gingrich went on record, and publicly retracted his claim. We are still waiting for Clinton's retraction. share
