The night garden?

Is it a metaphor for death? IgglePiggle gets on his boat with no sail and the light that goes up is his soul moving to heaven? Is IgglePiggle Jesus? He has what looks like a crown of thorns and carries a shroud.

Makka Pakka looks after everything - he's God. Daisy is actually Mary welcoming him to paradise and the the Toombliboos are the Three Wise Men who have waited for him to follow the Star to heaven.

Any idea on the Pontipines? Disciples? Two are missing?

I persoanally don't think iggle piggle is ment ot be jesus but i do think there is def hidden meaning behind it all.......Is it a dream world Iggle Piggle can only go to at night...is he bound to roam the world during the day on his own...Ifind it really sad actually that iggle piggle is on his own and is never allowed to stay in the garden........

I'm not sure if the death/Christian interpretations are just jokes, but...

Much of symbolism is about sleeping and dreaming - specially designed to calm small children down before bedtime. Igglepiggle represents the child we see at the beginning of the program. This is why Igglepiggle doesn't fall asleep in the night garden at the end - he doesn't live there, he just visits.

Why does he fall down then get back up at the end before getting into the boat?
