The movie is cheesy and YET...

and yet I look forward to seeing it since happening upon it a couple of years ago. I have gone through some rough periods, financially and emotionally, and it resonates and is uplifting. So it's badly filmed, directed and has extremely low production values. As well this could be Linda Hamilton's lowest career mark. (Did she blow through all those millions from her James Cameron divorce?) AND Yet this movie still has worth.

I couldn't agree more! I watched this movie twice last night and it resonates even more in this economy. In my opinion, Linda Hamilton's haggard look helps drive home the point of the movie. This could really happen to anyone.

I doubt she blowed through those millions, she is probably at the point in her career where she doesn't need to make movies to build a reputation, or to get money. She makes 'em whatever because they are interesting and appeal to her regardless of budget.

I was thinking the same thing, Cinderling. I think this movie spoke to her heart -- it definitely did to mine!

I'm watching it right now. Funny thing is I tease my mom on a regular basis for watching the LIFETIME channel 24/7. Yet I let myself get hooked to this story somehow. I don't want to change...I actually want to know what happens. :-)

So it's not an award winning movie, It even has that "lifetime movie generic soundtrack" (which makes me laugh) but I love this movie! I love Linda Hamilton, I love the story and I love the happy ending!!
It's a Christmas tradition for me, to watch this every year now.

It holds a mirror to your own conscience and makes you count your blessings. I also like the hidden messages in this film. To me it proves "Being Kind Has its Rewards" and "Being Kind is a gift all of us can give".
