It was the Janitor that said...*spoilers*

"Its not about the people you leave behind but the people who you havent met yet." to Emilia

Her mother nagged her about her life. And she had deep troubles with her father.
Milo was having troubles with his life...letdown issues.
The person she hasnt met yet was Milo.

I believe the father to be real and to be Emilia's father.
At the end, the father says "someones been shot". He points to Milo confused. But why would he be confused? Makes no sense. But it does actually because he see his daughter he's been looking for to "talk some sense into", Emilia. He believed God would bring david back to him (emilia).

I believe David/Preest to be NOT real.
I believe Meanwhile city to be fake but London to obviously be real.
Yes I believe David was a figment of her imagination. Not real but a medium of Emilia's feelings/relationship to her father raping her. I believe the talk of The Individual and Religion (God) to be referring the father. All the crosses around her, yet her saying she isnt religious probably has to do with him being a preist and that sort of letdown of religion from her life.

If im correct I believe sally to be the letdown issue of Milo. He wanted love. He found emily. Sally said "if you believe in something strong enough...". I believe the mother said something about an engagement/marriage that never happened?
