Wrong meaning of name

Pastor Bone tells Emilia, that his name means "Bread of Life". It doesn't. It means Good Shepherd. Perhaps the mistake is intentionally. In Thomas Aquinas' (1225-1274) poem Laude Sion one verse begins:
Bone pastor, panis vere.
This means "Good shepherd, true bread".
My guess will be, that the character Pastor Bone is a reference to the poem, but instead of using the meaning of the first two words, he translates the meaning of the following words, though a more correct translation would be "Bread of Truth" instead og Bread of Life.

Give it up for this film. How often to you see so many references to ancient works?

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?" Epicurus

"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
Lucius Annaeus Seneca

And I love this quote from the janitor: “I'm just saying that it isn't just about your family, your friends, the people you leave behind. It's about the people you haven't met yet."

"I'd never ask you to trust me. It's the cry of a guilty soul."
