Best concert films?

1. Stop Making Sense
2. Woodstock
3. Festival Express
4. Gimme Shelter
5. Last Waltz
6. Shine a Light

PS I was in college when Stop Making Sense came out, so maybe I'm biased. Are there any great concert movies about bands from the 90s and 2000s?

There’s some brilliant concert films to pick from, but in my opinion The Last Waltz is the greatest of them all.

One of the great first full length feature concert films "Joe Cocker, Mad Dogs & Englishmen".

My three faves:
1. Song Remains the Same
2. Jimi Hendrix: Live at Monterey
3. Shine A Light

Also really want to see Stop Making Sense, Last Waltz, Gimme Shelter...

No Direction Home (Scorsese) is AWESOME but more of a Dylan biographical than a concert film.

reply

No, your not biased. Stop making sense is a fine movie. Number 1 for me too...
