The Japanese soldiers interviewed in this...

Need to be punished. I don't care that they're old (why should that matter when we still have SS guards being hunted). I cant believe they show no pity for what they did, especially the guy laughing about raping women. WTF?

YEAH THAT WAS FCKED UP..I would totally punch that guy in the face, at least a few times (until someone stopped me lol).

Apparently the names on-screen were pseudonyms, perhaps to "protect" them. The footage seems to be from another documentary, more specifically about the Yamada Unit. Anyone know more about it?

reply

I saw the film yesterday. I could not believe it. They were proud of what they did, no remorse at all.

Anyway... a few days ago I saw "White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki", and the Enola Gay crew interviewed showed no regret about the A-bomb over Hiroshima.

You should watch Shoah and last year's The Act of Killing.

Added to my watchlist, thank you!

Yes, I've seen docs on WWII where German soldiers talk about slaughtering innocent civilians with the same casual indifference, and it's disturbing and infuriating to know they went unpunished. I think it's because they weren't officers, and technically "just following orders".
