I thought he looked familiar, he has the same big eyes and teeth as Stitch from Disney's Lilo & Stitch, though he's not quite as deranged!
And just to be clear, this is not meant to be translated as 'lol, Dreamworks ripped off/copied/plagiarized Disney'.
It's not a stretch nor is it a coincidence. HTTYD was directed by the same two people who directed Lilo and Stitch.
