I preferred Mort in the movie. He was a lot more quiet and toddler-like than he is on the show, but that's just my opinion.
My favorite lemur is King Julien! xD I love how dramatically he suggested the roller disco for the Lola episode. Plus he's very obnoxious, but lovably so~
I agree with you the series destroyed his character.
shareI must be the only fan of Maurice here. I think it's because I can sympathize with his plight of being the only sane character around. Plus, he is sort of cute (though it's subtle, and not rubbed in your face, as I feel it is with Mort), even though real aye-ayes are...eh, not so cute:

You're not the only Maurice fan. He's my favorite lemur.
And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who can't stand Mort. I'm tired of hearing him say, "I like" this or "I like" that. It's old!
I like Maurice too! He seems to be the only sane one of the three while Julien has it in his head that he's the King and Mort is busy kissing Julien's feet.
But that said, I do like Julien and Mort but Maurice is my favorite.
