Christmas Number 1

Simon Cowell is planning to engineer a chart battle between the next X Factor winner and last year's victor Leona Lewis.

Bookies expect the champion of the fourth series to grab the Christmas No.1 spot later this year, but it is believed that Cowell does not want the result to be a foregone conclusion.

Instead, he is making plans for the second single from Leona's new album to be released in time for Christmas, making the battle for the top spot more unpredictable than anticipated.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: "The winner of this year's X Factor is almost guaranteed the Christmas No.1. But Simon believes the only performer who could upset the apple cart is Leona. For him, it's a win-win situation because whatever happens he is all but certain of getting the top two spots."

The newspaper's report also claims that 2005's winner Shayne Ward could join the battle and also release a Christmas single.....


So we have Leona, the X Factor winner and Shayne Ward competing for Christmas Number 1 also loads of other well known artists.
