Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown - Console Version?

What should the home console release of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown be like if and when Sega get around to even considering releasing it to the X-ox360, PS3 and PC versions. Cos when one thinks about it, there maynot even be a future arcade version of a Virtua Fighter 6 release at this rate. Especially when you consider arcades are dying off everywhere's and everything poured into home console releases of video games.

So one has to ask themselves of this?

When Sega eventually get around to it, what do you want to see in an updated second and final re-release of the Virtua Fighter 5 game. As most of us VF players know the updated versions Virtua Fighter 5: R and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown were "Japan only" releases into Japanese arcades, so to the rest of the world of fans who wanted to play the later versions were prevented from doing so. Logically fans in; North America, South America, Europe, Asia want to play their favorite game and latest update version than the vanilla version thats been out on the X-Box360 since 2008 or so?

Along with my list of *fan-inspired* requirements from my VF6 list thread on here, i figure it'll be would be smarter to make a more logical list for something that could realistically be Sega's last chance of a possible home console release of VF5-FS.

Ideas for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown if it eventually comes to Home Console version!

Fighting System & Overall GamePlay

* - An updated game needs to feature the "Final Showdown" as its main "default" fighting engine, how it wouldn't go a miss to also include the previous systems like VF5:Vanilla (Original VF5) and VF5: R (Prior game system) as alternate game modes and include this as a major bonus for VF players around the world, who didn't get a chance to play it outside of Japan originally.

Think of this like; Street Fighter Alpha 3's 'Groove' system, where you pick alternate fighting mode versions of the VF characters from previous in-game engines? Or have Original and R as fighting systems to unlock for characters via a code input at the; 'character select screen' instead.

* - Character Select Screen. Should have the option of choosing multiple colours for each VF character in their various A, B, C and D outfits. Inwhich items and clothing are not only uniquely picked and put onto a character's clothes/items depending on which variation is chosen, but also colour oriented via a player's choices after selecting a VF character during selection process.

Would add to the variations of dressing up each person's fighter well beyond 'customisable' character items and whatnot

* - More bonus material and extra modes. Vs Mode, Quest Mode, Dojo, Online. but also include the following; "Tag Battle" mode which hasn't been seen since VF3, "Arcade History mode"; featuring Arcade perfect versions of every Virtua Fighter game up to and including Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned.

* - Return of several VF character moves which have been taken out and removed over the years. From VF4, and VF5 arcade. Some moves from VF's 1, 2 and 3. Lau's double stomp (VF1 & 2) for one and his "double sweeping" 'Palm Strike' (VF4-Evo), Jacky's Lighting Storm (multiple-5 kicks alternate) from VF4, Wolf's Crippler-Crossface and Double German-Suplex (VF4-Evo) for some examples etc.

* - Huge amount of DLC options. Its about high time DLC is abused to high-heaven instead of given the "barebones" treatment by most fighting games titles once it comes down to home console releases etc. And make it worthwhile downloadable content. No more friggin weird clothes/clothing that the characters are forced to wear in VF5-R and FS i.e much less ridiculous costumes/outfits won during Quest Mode as well. Just return the decent alternate clothes from the previous games like; VF3, VF4, VF5 etc.

* - A STORY MODE. More personality and story. Cutscenes would be a plus benefit, even if its meant to be a technical game with more skill and substance over flashyness. Its also got to compete against its arcade rivals (Tekken, Soul Calibur). Keep the series from becoming too "outlandish" certainly, but the game definitely needs something major to push into the public eye big-time, besides just having an excellent fighting system and semi-realistic fighting engine to boot.

* - The ability to upload replays (home console version) to youtube. Or putting back the AI training mode from VF4, just for the sake of Single Player longevity.

* - A rematch option when playing arcade so you don't have to wait to go back to the arcade menu and wait for the match to load again.

* - Watch Mode. Akin to the one seen in VF2, VF4 home versions.

* - Gallery mode (artwork, Concept art, making of cutscene movies, AM2 interviews) for the home console versions. Maybe some neat AM2 production artwork and concept artwork would popup during completion of a game's end credits, in the arcade version however!

* Less powerful and more playable version of Dural with balance changes. Only have the C.P.U. version be far stronger than normal.

Also make her character, arcade playable, thus adding to the roster! And with 20 characters in the game. Dural's use of existing character moves could also be broken into her actually having the ability to divide her collection of moves into 3; "sub-groups" as it were. Between 7 copied characters movesets within 3 seperate groups of each. And have certain copied moves within each group. Make her (via: button/special move application) being able to swtich between a collection of character moves taken from, for example 3 subgroups; Group 1: - Akira, Kage, Lau, Shun, Brad &, Jean (Special Moves/Throws) Group 2: Sarah, Jacky, Pai, Lei, Lion. Aoi & El Blaze, (Various Attack Moves/Combo Variations) and finally Group 3: Wolf, Jeffry, Taka, Eileen, Vanessa & Goh (Throws & Counters) taking the absolute best from each group's talents and adding their best moves and specials; to her own arsenal of moves as a cyborg!

But expand her scope with the added unique ability to keep switching inbetween her own previous older VF moves and being able to divide her style accordingly with 3 "subgroups" utilising VF characters copied attacks, throws and specials etc.

* The old character poses from previous games, especially have multiples from the older games during a 'perfect win' or something or other. Mostly everything drawn from VF4, VF5 (arcade). But also VF1, 2 and 3 as well.

A VF player's Wish List

* - Faster gameplay and control response, Less precise delay ("odd") timing, More realistic (less "ridiculous") juggles, 'Improved Collision' system.

* - Return the 'Zero Frame' grab 'bop', from the first arcade VF5 version (Which was removed from R and FS) on some of the throws again. Because it was removed from R and FS on practically all basic-throws and special-throws. Having several of them being different from each other, would make the game vary in what its caperable of in terms of reaction timing from the players after a 'blocked-throw' attempt.

* - New 3D multi-platform levels - Akin to Virtua Fighter 3! Return some of the old VF3 levels if need be.

* - Larger game Lobbies, far as online console content goes.

* - BGM (Back. Ground. Music) from all previous VF games. Remix versions also available in dolby digital 5.1 Surround Sound.

* - Just come out as say 'Vanessa Lewis' is from Brazil. Whats all this business about her fighting style: is 'Vale Tudo' but country of origin is unknown?!? What? haven't you already named her fighting style AM2 which is known to be a Brazilian MMA? style. She's Brazilian, enough said so just come out with it already and give her country's 'flag' at the character selection screen to boot (Rant over, lol!).

* - Buff certain characters like; Jeffry McWild (with many new grabs, attacking moves, and increase his options), Aoi (strengthen her counters and damage output), Lei-Fei (techniques need refining?), Goh Hinogami (increase his speed and manuverbility/agility) and Brad Burns (increase his moves list, he also needs several more 'kickboxing combo' grabs etc). Everyone else is usually fine enough in tier-listing though and are quite powerful already!

Always buff VF characters and don't weaken them in favors of others unnecessarily.

* - For any updated home console release. Have a mode where finally you can have a 'Vs Mode' and not be restricted at all by a "Ring Out" via removing it and allowing the fighters for once to fight all over the stages beautiful backgrounds with no exceptions!!! Call it a; "No Holds Barred Mode" as such.

With few boundaries.

And finally as a bonus extra....?

* - Include the; VF1 test character "Siba" Who was taken out and was named Akira on the old promotional materials for the first Virtua Fighter game before Akira was officially completed by Sega/AM2 in the final released version of VF. Have him even be a character working for the evil 'J6 Corperation' or something!

He was meant to be an; Arab/Arabic warrior of some sort who had a sword/sabre originally. So he could quite easily be made out as an Egyptian VF fighting character of some sort and be either a soldier or fighter with a unique fighting style (perhaps Krav-Maga as mentioned above?) or Kuta (Egyptian fighting/boxing style). He could very well be made out to be something like a 'second boss' fighting character, beat Dural not just face her and lose in order to reach him.

He was playable in Sega's Fighting Vipers on the Sega Saturn! So simply spruce up his old design and make him playable in VF6!

I'll add more ideas and update this thread whenever something really creative strikes me?
