2 funny story jokes I cracked revolving around Gen....
....primarily because he was played by Robin Shou (a.k.a. Liu Kang in both Mortal Kombat movies)

WARNING: I may get too carried away with these....
after Gen shows Chun Li the flier for the Street Fighter tournament and mentions Ryu
I'm sorry, I don't remember the whole dialogue for that scene because I only rented this movie once.
JOKE #1
*Gen: "We better start recruiting." (if I recall, he said that)
*Chun Li: "Are you going to enter this Street Fighter tournament, Gen?"
*Gen: "No, I'm actually going to be entering a different tournament."
*Chun Li: "What tournament is that?"
*Gen: "It's a tournament called Mortal Kombat."
*Chun Li: "Mortal Kombat?"
*Gen: "Yep, it's an ancient tournament which has been fought on an island for many generations and has warriors from Earth battling warriors from another world."
*Chun Li: "Warriors from another world?"
*Gen: "Oh yeah, I hear it's hosted by a sorcerer who can steal souls."
*Chun Li: "A sorcerer who steals souls?"
*Gen: "The sorcerer owns the island. I hear that there is a ninja who can freeze, a ninja who can shoot something out of his hand and a big 4 armed beast who they say has been undefeated for 9 generations."
*Chun Li: "This all sounds too weird, Gen."
*Gen: "Really? Well......" suddenly, a Spear hit's Gen "AAAHHHH!"
*Chun Li: looks off into the distance "Who the hell is that?"
*Gen: looks up to see Scorpion "Oh [BEEP]!"
*Chun Li: "Do you need help, Gen?"
*Gen: "No, I can handle this guy by my...."
*Scorpion: retracts his Spear pulling Gen toward him "GET OVER HERE!"
Battle between Gen and Scorpion ensues and for dramatic effect, Immortal by Adema plays in the background

*a voice character wouldn't be shown just yet: "I did...."
*Chun Li: Turns around to see the original Sub-Zero standing there "Who are you?"
*Sub-Zero: "I am Sub-Zero, a member of the Lin Kuei Ninja Clan and I am also a master over the power of Ice."
*Chun Li: "You're gonna pay for what you did to Gen, my master!"
*Sub-Zero: ".....Gen? No, that guy's name is Liu Kang, isn't it? Did that guy not just say he'll be entering the Mortal Kombat tournament?"
*Chun Li: "What is it to you?"
*Sub-Zero: "That's my business and not yours...."
a battle between Chun Li and Sub-Zero ensues and for dramatic effect, the Reptile battle theme from the 1st Mortal Kombat movie plays in the background
*Chun Li: after doing her Spinning Bird Kick and knocking Sub-Zero down, Chun Li prepares to finish Sub-Zero "Now, thaw Gen or I'll finish you myself." suddenly, Scorpion teleports in "Another 1?"
*Scorpion: "If anyone is gonna kill Sub-Zero here, it's gonna be me! I have an old score to settle with him!"
*Chun Li: "You'll have to go through me first."
*Scorpion: "With pleasure..." fires his Spear at Chun Li and pulls her toward him "GET OVER HERE!" Chun Li manages to break free of Scorpion's Spear
Sub-Zero get's back up
*Sub-Zero: "Back off Scorpion! She's mine!"
*Scorpion: "I'm here to make sure this Street Fighter doesn't kill you. When I'm finished with her, I'll deal with you."
*Sub-Zero: he, Chun Li and Scorpion all get into their fighting stances "Now, where were we?"
*Scorpion: to Chun Li "What do you think of this!" removes his mask to reveal his flaming skull
*Chun Li: "Holy [BEEP]" Scorpion breaths fire and Chun Li dodges it and she also dodges an Ice Ball thrown by Sub-Zero
suddenly, there is a flash of light accompanied by lightning bolts which zap Scorpion and Sub-Zero and send them flying
*Rayden: "ENOUGH!" looks over at Chun Li "Are you OK?"
*Chun Li: "That 1 guy froze my master, Gen and...."
Rayden thaws Gen
*Gen: "What just happened?"
*Rayden: "You were frozen. Sub-Zero thought you were Liu Kang."
*Gen: "Liu Kang? Who the hell is Liu Kang?"
*Liu Kang: enters] "I am Liu Kang."
*Liu Kang and Gen (in unison): "You look just like me!"
