Shame On Anyone That Pays To See This Trash

I can't believe they're actually using the line "They're not the problem, we are" to promote this piece of crap.

Shame on Redford and shame on anyone that actually pays to see this trash. Support this liberal propaganda and the stupidity of their cause and you're doing no better then supporting the terrorists themselves. Liberals are invested in American defeat and fostering the false premise that "the sky is falling" and it's quite pitiful. I'm glad that every recent piece of liberal filth has bombed at the box office. I'm quite sure this one will fair no better. I know no true American will add to its box office and reward the blatant and blind stupidity of its creators.

If your going to say stupid &^%# like this...at least have the common decency to explain what you mean.

reply

^^Yeah, exactly!! I'm a liberal and I have no interested in seeing America 'defeated', I simply want the America that we use to have, one that DIDN'T start preemptive wars, tap our phones, holding prisioners without rights and etc.

I don't want to see America defeated, just the people who set these things in motion.

I'm right, you're wrong. Deal with it!

Free speech was not created as a concept to protect the rights of lazy a-holes who want to talk about things that they are ignorant about.

"History teaches us that underestimating the words of evil, ambitious men is a terrible mistake," Bush said.

O.K...First of all, the fact that you are quoting the President is laughable. There are books, calenders, web-pages, and movies dedicated solely to the sheer idiocy of what Mr. Bush has said. Secondly, the above quote by Bush should be addressed to Bush himself.

I think it's funny how people make Bush out to be some kind of Adolph Hitler. People don't see how blinded the are of Bush-hatred, how everything terrorists do, there is some reason that it is, in some way, Bush's fault (and if a comet falls to the earth, that would be his fault too).

Also, no matter what the terrorists do, somehow, it isn't their fault and they have a good excuse. Terrorists could kidnap a busload of children and torture them to death and these people would say, "Well, how can you blame those freedom fighters? Their rage is a result of Bush's foreign policy."

Whatever.

OK, I will admitt that singling out Bush is a bit unfair. After all, he is more of a figure-head than anything else.

It's this kind of reasoning that disturbs me about the left turn so many want this country to make. You actually believe you've presented a valid argument here, don't you? I've seen the same You Tube videos of Bush's verbal gaffs. But you've not addressed the substance of any of the coherent quotes posted here, accept to imply that Bush himself is evil. My lord but you are numbskull. Come on man use that gray matter and think.

Free speech was created as a concept to protect the rights of ALL AMERICAN citizens, regardless of their political ideas, concepts, and opinions. It's called "Free Speech" for a reason. Free speech was created even for those of us who aren't willing to continue supporting the endless, pointless war in Iraq. Just because we speak out against it, does not make us un-patriotic.

Well recently there was a call to "Redefine Privacy" ... Soon we will see republicans wanting to "Redefine Freedom".

Scary times we live in boys and girls. Buy a weapon and keep it loaded.

Yes it was.

No we're not. We just realize what's really going on.

Duke, thanks for putting your ignorance on display for everyone here. It really is laughable, but then again you must be one of the select few (24% and dropping, in the latest polls) who slavishly believes everything you hear from right-wing talk radio and FOX "News", not to mention a president who lied his way into a preventive war we had no reason, absolutely no reason, getting into. How many Americans have died in Iraq? How many have been mained? How many Iraqis? Assuming you care, which, of course you don't.

As for budget deficits, which president started off his presidency seven years ago with a budget surplus which he promptly squandered on corporate tax breaks, tax breaks for the wealthy, and running up public spending? You do realize that Bush's tax cuts haven't resulted in spending cuts, right? Right. AND you can't blame the Democrats. They were out of power during the first six years of Bush's presidency. Suck it up and take the blame like a man. The Republican Party treated the federal treasury like it belonged to them. Once, long ago, Republicans loved to call Democrats "Tax and Spend Liberals". Instead, they've become "Tax Cut and Spend Conservatives." Which party, I ask you, is worse when it comes to fiscal responsibility? Don't answer that. We already know the answer.

Of course, all we have to do is look at "Duke's" name to see he's all talk and no action. Why is it that right-wingers love to talk tough, but have others die for their mistakes? Why are they so unwilling to volunteer for the wars they so fervently support? Or barring that, since we're borrowing billions from the Chinese to fund the wars and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, why aren't you willing to sacrifice financially (i.e., give your tax refunds, if any back)?

You, Duke, are everything that's wrong with this country. Thankfully, you're in the minority now and, hopefully, for the near and distant future. It'll take decades to clean up the mess the Bush-Cheney administration has made both here and abroad. Then again, you obviously don't care, as long as your taxes are low (ha) and you don't have to sacrifice anything personally.

Class is dismissed.

reply

Just like the fact that government needs to be smaller, not bigger, taxes need to be lower, not higher. We pay far too much in taxes to feed an ever-growing government. Thankfully, Republicans have helped cut taxes over the years, and the country is better for it. Just take a look at the recent tax proposal by liberal Democrat Charles Rangel, and one will see why we can't let the Democrats win the White House. With control of Congress, the Democrats are one election away from grinding the economy to a halt

reply

Can you back up your claim, duke?

reply

Here's what the replublicans have done:

Budgetted $56B dollars a year to education.
Pay $400B to interest to china and japan (mostly) for the loans we've taken out.

Seeing any connection to reality yet, Dukejbm? This is like a consumer quitting his job...but as long as he goes deeper and deeper in debt without using federal aid, he's a-okay in your book?

You do realize that the President thought 1Billion a year more to education was too expensive...while he spend $12Billion a MONTH on this "war"?

President Bush compared liberal fools with people who ignored the rise of Lenin and Hitler early in the last century, saying "the world paid a terrible price" then and risks similar consequences for inaction today.

"Unfortunately, on too many issues, some in Congress are behaving as if America is not at war," Bush said.

He argued that the current debate over the Iraq war and the Bush administration's anti-terror methods harkens back to debates decades ago in Washington when Soviet founder Vladimir Lenin first talked about launching a communist revolution, when Adolf Hitler began moves to establish an "Aryan superstate" in Germany, and when some argued that Cold War accommodation of the Soviet Union was wiser than competition.

"Now we're at the start of a new century, and the same debate is once again unfolding, this time regarding my policy in the Middle East," Bush said. "Once again, voices in Washington are arguing that the watchword of the policy should be stability."

Bush said denial that "we are at war" is dangerous.

"History teaches us that underestimating the words of evil, ambitious men is a terrible mistake," Bush said. "Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them. And the question is, will we listen?"

I loled @ u for taking a movie so seriously.

kk?

reply

Wow..its a movie..and it was very well done!

And it is not all about politics, maybe you were too busy complaining about the context and missed what was going on. The movie is about making decisions and how they all shape who we are. Its about the effects our decisions have on ourselves and others around us. I'm not saying that the movie was not about the war because it clearly was, but to say its trash is pretty childish to say.

We know all the facts you stated..we're not new to this country..but this is a movie..based on the point of view of screenwriters..its not actually going to happen or affect your life in any way..CHILL!

reply

Well said, ox. Redford said a lot of people will be misjudging this movie; people who have not even seen the film.

Nice post.

I am ashamed of you. You claim that people of certain political parties are enemies of America, when in fact it is the concept of dissenting viewpoints which makes America the country it is. Your slobbering, hot-headed rant is a manifestation of everything wrong with Americans today. The attitude that anyone who disagrees with you is a fear-mongering barbarian is an ignorant and dangerous thing to say and goes to show how little people appreciate what in fact freedom truly is. If you want to live in a country where there is only one opinion, move to North Korea, at least it will spare us your paranoid delusions of the end of western civilization as we know it. A movie isn't going to bring the country to it's knees, and I highly doubt that the democratic party will either.
Please do not listen to this person. He is an angry, paranoid, and belligerent person who seems to be unable to grasp the basic premise of Jeffersonian
Democracy. By jumping on his bandwagon, you only encourage him to convince more people that the principles of democracy are one person making all the decisions and everyone else bending over and taking it. Remember, one fool is is harmless, but in crowds, they are the most dangerous form of life known to man.

Return to your lives, citizens!

Ah, the conservative mindset...

DUKEJBM, is this what you want to hear? "Look at me, I'm a liberal! Excuse me, I must go down to K-Mart and buy a handgun which I will then ship off to my friend Ahmed who lives in a bad neighbourhood in Tikrit! But first, I'm going to light up a doobie, abort foetuses and have sex with men, followed by taking an axe to SUVs to reduce my neighbourhoods' carbon footprint!"

What is it with you damn conservatives that has demonised the liberal viewpoint? I would consider myself liberal, but I don't want war in Iraq to continue. I want a ceasefire, followed by peaceful negotiations. I want Osama bin Laden imprisoned and President Bush impeached. I'm not really pro-abortion, I don't do drugs, I'm not gay and, best of all...

...I'm not American. It is soooo funny to watch you bitch about the liberals as the rest of the world laughs.

A citizen of the world by birth, not American by the grace of God (or Allah, or whatever you're into).

Three claws on his knees, he's not human.

I'm a true American, and I plan to add to its box office. Fine, be ashamed of me, I really don't care. True americans, as you call them, are allowed to express their right to free speech, last time I checked. And if free speech means speaking out against the war and this so-called current administration, then so be it. And I know you may call me un-patriotic for doing so, but then again, Free Speech is being patriotic. Yes, I have issue with the whole war in general. So far over $50 billion has been spent, and yet where's the proof any of it has done any good whatsoever? Has the new democratic gov't been installed yet? Oh yeah, there was the recent assination of some newly elected official. You honestly believe a democratic gov't can be installed sucessfully? It would be great if it was. It would be great to see it do well. I hardly think by seeing this film, I would be supporting terrorists. I am glad films like this are being made. It's about time! Keep in mind, Bush's last month in office is in January 2009. Thank goodness! What a mess he is leaving behind.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU! EACH OF YOU MADE REALISTIC, REASONABLE RESPONSES TO DUKEJBM. You are the 'true' Americans - you know BS when you hear it!!
