waste of time

This movie is bad. Just a waste of time. The director/writer is gay allright and the main objective of the film is to establish homosexuality in normal social life. A hopeless effort..

This movie is not about homosexuality and certainly the main objective of this film is not to establish what you said in "normal" social life. Now you can go color your coloring book.

I agree with the first guy writing only on one thing: this movie is really bad. But not of course because it talks about gay people. As italian, I think Ozpetek continuosly misses the possibility to tell something real about italian society. In his movies, all charachters are good, you never have a bit of badness. The Ozpetek cinema's is unreal, consolatory, rethoric.

I don't think the word "bad" can be applied to this movie for any reason. It might not say the things you wanted it to say, but to say that the film is "bad" is completely egregious. The performances are uniformly excellent, the soundtrack is flawless, the cinematography is great to look at, and the story is quite compelling if you're into that sort of thing. Obviously, I am. But regardless of how much it spoke to you, though, to call it "bad" by any definition of the word is simply false. And all of these character were flawed. None of them were perfect. They just weren't presented as monsters. But maybe that's because Oxpetek doesn't personally believe that people are "bad," so he chooses to make movies that speak to their greatness rather than their evilness. I think you missed the point entirely.

OMG. Could you have missed the point of the movie any more?

This is probably one of the best movies I have seen on love, life and death. It's a Spanish "Big Chill" with gay characters who are simply part of the mix, and anyway, what the hell is wrong with establishing gay people as being normal in social life?

I don't know if I've been moved by a movie this much in quite some time. I've been feeling so hopeful about movies again ever since I walked out of the theater with a smile on my face and love in my heart.

I really feel bad for the people who can't relate to this movie, because it really captures the essence of what it means to live and love. It's simply gorgeous.
