So the so-called 'witness' did not actually see anyone at the sea, climbing the rope etc that night?

it's a dumb twist added at the last minute........it wasn't there in the book...

totally!....one of my favorite Agathe Christie novels.......the movie was faithful........but a terrible adaptation....

sorry, I haven't seen this film but I have read the book within the past couple of weeks (which is why I've been looking up adaptations).

The twist that the witness didn't actually see the event he claimed to witness certainly was in the book. He just piced it together and thought it would have more weight if he claimed to have seen it.
