Specifically, who dies? I have a feeling it's a sad story. I just want to know ahead.

As with many films inspired by real life events, George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) dies of complications caused by tetanus. Attempts were made to acquire the much needed medications by sending for them at a nearby town but those efforts proved fruitless.
