Real Ghosts in the end credits

I thought the scariest part of the movie by far was the ghostly images caught in several scenes of the movie.

In particular, the very last image is of a still of the movie where u can see some sort of human figure in the shape of her outer ear.

Was all this trick photography? It was pretty freaky to me.
