"her out of date clothes and out of date hair is sick "

You realize this movie was filmed over 6 years ago right?

Or is it your duty to seem like the most uninformed person on earth?

who cars? She's pretty hot to me... I don't care what kind of clothes she's wearing... although I'd prefer to see her without..

reply

You know wierd thing.

I was watching something with J.L. and never really thought of the resembalance before, but it is there. Not insane or mind shattering, but there none the less.

So tony, 1 question though.

( in case you didn't know this is Ryan, aka drew)

1. How did you come across this film?

reply

Very slim JL resemblance. I CAN see it but would have never came up with that on my own..

As for your question, I can't go into too much detail but I can say that I work for a cable network and that is how I came across it.

reply

Can't go into too much detail?

Interesting, to say the least.

Seeing as your the first person to come on here and be half decently civil about how the film sucks, any questions you have?

reply

Sorry about not being able to get into detail but nothing too interesting.. do some homework and you might find this movie on some cable listings.. :)

questions.. none that come to mind but if I do, I'll come back and ask...

as for the film 'sucking", well it is what it is, there are movie buffs that DO like B movies no matter how bad the acting may appear or the production, etc.. as for my opinion, yeah there are some acting issues but to the defence of the actors, it also looks like zero direction. And you can tell the cost of the production is very very low.

reply

Well the networks that have the rights, i know, so i have a decent handle on where you would be from.

"yeah there are some acting issues but to the defence of the actors, it also looks like zero direction."

Wierd thing, i agree 100% with the acting issues, but the problem was too much direction as opposed to too little.

( above and beyond the issue of having actors play thier own age, which is a huge NSM in the film industry. )

I am sure you are familiar with the huge difference between american and canadian film. Personally i say canadian, understated acting is a bit better, but i digress.

Now the director wanted a movie that would appeal to americans, so we were told on a very constant basis to " make it over the top" or " more american.".

I can only speak for myself, lindsay, and brian but going from stage acting ( which we were all familiar with.), to " over the top" 80's movie esque ( not in the good way. ) cheese was like pulling teeth. Not only we we out of our element, but the one we were trying to emulate sucked to begin with.

Not to diss mark, he thought he was doing the right thing and making a palatable movie. It just wasn't the best idea.

reply

Too much direction would have the same effect... though sorry to dissapoint, I didn't see anything that was "over the top".

BUT, you move on, as actors you learn from it. Like I said, the movie is what it is and shouldn't be expected to be anything else. As you might have already found out, Americans are very hard to please so take the critism with a grain a salt but take what you want to take from it..

I do have a question now though - I was rweading on here that there was some disagreements in during the production or something. Was that between the cast members and what was that all about?

reply

Depends on what you mean. There is actually a lot of....wierdness in the entire production of the film, which honestly is a little more interesting than the film itself, lol.

There was small issues with jenna being a bit of a prema donna , but what else could be expected in a small town film, lol.

There was some issues when i first started posting here under my old sing in ( sadhatter) , which were kind of interesting ( if you wern't my confused ass caught in the middle, lol. )

One of the line prod's ended up getting ahold of me and feeding me a bunch of info that the film made all kinds of cash, and that the director had stolen money, and claimed the budget was huge to line his own pockets, etc etc.

That ended up turning into a bit of a crap storm, and to be honest i am still confused about it, but after hearing them both, i can say, like every sitcom has shown us, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

That being said, i have no clue of the truth, all i know is i have yet to be paid, but that could be because the film hasn't made a penny. And Mark was more than willing to pick me up the day he called and go over the records to show me the film didn't make money. Could have been a bluff, who knows. I'm not really sweating about it too much and should the opertunity arise, i probably would work with mark again.

Then there was the general drama between said line prod and mark, which was insane, but a little funny.

If you have any more clues as to what drama it may be i would be happy to extrapolate on any stories i may have.

Yeah exactly what i thought, lol.

Hopefully i can post something that will give him more entertainment than the film could have.

reply

Btw tony, check your pm's.

got it, Ryan. BTW, what is the Dark Fields title that is coming up for 2010? Is it related to this film?

reply

No, lol. To the best of my research it appears to be a legit hollywood film.

I have had a running theory that lions gate bought the rights to this film for some reason related to the newer film, possibly to cash in on people mistakenly renting it, or something of that nature. I mean i joke about it, but there are very few other reasons i could see them buying the film, lol.

This is the first teen stalker movie where I wanted ALL the characters is DIE, slowly and painfully. It HAD to be written in the script to make them THIS annoying, right??
