Hadn't the guts.. (spoiler)


At the very end when he says "He hadn't the guts. We could have been Kings" did he mean he was afraid to admit that Joe had worked and been successful and he could have been a success too, or did he mean he couldn't admit that he hadn't the guts to kill himself. It's was kind of ambiguous.

Yes it was meant to be an either or ambiguous statement.
