Reviews from Tribeca?

Anyone read any reviews on this movie?? Or better yet, has anyone seen it??

I saw it at a screening tonight and really enjoyed it. Matthew Broderick was wonderful, and it was a nice balance of comedy and drama.

I watched this movie today at a screening in Cannes. It is awful. It is not funny at all.

Yeah, here's a review:

Kind of a smackdown, though...

i saw it by chance on showtime. i like it. the characters seem real (as if they could be based on any number of people from everyday life) without being stereotypes. in fact, that's my #1 recommendation of the film: it feels very "real" (and not in that hackneyed "based on a true story" or "inspired by real events" kind of way).

matthew broderick's and brittany snow's characters especially seem like the kind of people all around us who've mucked up everything in their lives mostly by their own choices. everybody in the supporting cast is well cast, and the narrative doesn't seem a bit contrived (even though there are a couple of more typical situations for this kind of drama in the story).

the resolution, too, feels like it belongs. not the tidy wrap you'd see around a movie with a bigger budget and sweeter intentions.
