Violence?

I knew this was a quite mature film, but I was a little surprised to find "a scene of violence" on the reasons for the R-rating. What is the nature of this scene?

SPOILER

(though its an obvious one)

Nick Stahl beating his dad to death with a shovel, but its off camera

reply

Oh, the old man starts to beat the *beep* out of his little grand daughter, then his pathetic son finally grows a pair, and murders his evil father with a shovel...and it's not off camera.

reply

Why does the Grandpa beat Tara?

reply

There is no "why".

You will be left wondering "why" any of it happens.

Most importantly "Why" this god-awful film ever got made.

dennis hopper's character as mr. reedy is just that sort of guy, no matter what you do, it's not going to make him happy. he held grudges about his dysfunctional family and yeah, so when tara didn't do exactly what he wanted and how he wanted her to do it, he starting slapping her around and james (nick stahl) obviously didn't like watching her get beat up.

Save a collar, pop a cherry(:
