Reminds me of Lawn Dogs...

I haven't seen this film but I saw the trailer and it totally reminded me of the film Lawn Dogs with Mischa Barton and Sam Rockwell. SO if anyone here has seen both films can you tell if they are similar or have a completely different feel to it

Lawndogs is one of my favorite films. I just saw Sleepwalker last night and it is stunning. I wouldn't exactly group these two films together, though. Lawndogs has dark comedic elements while Sleepwalker is pretty much just dark, although there are a couple of moments where you will find yourself laughing. (The diving board scene would fit nicely in Lawndogs.) Mischa Barton's character is bold and self-assured while AnnaSophia Robb's character is frightened and insecure. Both turn in absolutely amazing performances beyond their years. More similar are the roles of Sam Rockwell and Nick Stahl, both of whom form involuntary bonds with their younger counterparts, although Nick's character is that of a protective uncle so the mistaken accusations of sexual intentions from Lawndogs never come into play in Sleepwalker. Nick's character's involvement does transform from involuntary when the familial bond sets in while Sam's character retains a guarded position, ever aware of the misconceptions of others.

What these films do share is great writing and brilliant acting.

Hmm I've never heard of Lawndogs before... maybe I should check it out. How did you see Sleepwalking though? The DVD comes out in July and there is absolutely no other way to get it... : D Please do support it though by buying the DVD because people work so hard on these movies... and they deserve to be rewarded.

I am trying to not sweat the small stuff here lol... but it's like a piece of food stuck between someones teeth... the movie is called Sleepwalking : D

My bad. Sleepwalking. I got 75% of it right, though. That's got to count for something.

Saw it at my local "dollar" theater (which is now $2) where they show second run films.

While we're at it, let's also correct my mistake with the Lawn Dogs title (it's two words). In my defense, on the DVD spine, both words do run together, although they are differentiated by distinct fonts (one bold and one light). It's a great movie nevertheless so check it out.

Haha all good... I'll give you a pass ; )

Damn man if it isn't enough that gas prices are out of this world... Wow a dollar though? I don't even see how a theater could run on that so maybe going up was a necessity. My bad though yo I didn't even think of that. I figured that you must have downloaded it. Just goes to show you another reason why keeping an openmind is important : )

Geez... You are just screwing everything up aren't you : D Jk but yea I'll check that out.
