Why did Jolene mail a letter to Tara? Why did she mail it to her old house? And how did it get there in one day?
Couldn't she have just left a note for Tara at the brother's place? She left while Tara was asleep.
Maybe I completely missed something...
I think she left impulsively with the trucker and didn't really think about her daughter until after she was gone.
We see the world, not as it is, but as we are.....
I for one would like to know what was in that letter. By watching the expressions of Tara and James it made quite an impression. I also wondered about how that letter got mailed and delivered in one day.

Dear Tara,
By now you probably have figured out that your mother is a hopeless loser who get's turned on by degenerates. When I became pregnant with you, I could have
made you the sole focus of my existence and gotten a job, no matter how demeaning, and done the best I could to raise you the right way. It might not have been perfect or easy but at least I would have owned up to my mistake by getting pregnant in the first place(NOT YOUR FAULT,TARA).
Instead I just couldn't bring myself to do the responsible, grown up thing. I was having too much fun living the life of an irresponsible slut. In the process,
I treated you like a piece of used luggage carting you around as I moved from place to place and bed to bed. Looking back, I probably should have at an adoption agency and become a groupie for Motorhead or Anvil or some other used up heavy metal band. It wouldn't have been glamorous but, hey, the drugs are free.
Here's some advice for you: 1)Respect yourself. Just because you're poor doesn't mean you have to demean yourself in a half hearted attempt to find Mr. Right on the wrong side of the tracks. 2)Do good in school. Okay, it might mean being a social misfit but at least you won't follow my lousy example of parent hood and personal maturity. 3)Money isn't everything so don't marry the guy just because he's rich and has a good career. There are just as many low life's on the right side of the tracks too so don't become a gold digger. 4)DUMP THAT MENTAL BASKET CASE OF AN UNCLE. He's hopeless.
