Splatterpunks Short Story

I recently re-read the horror anthology Splatterpunks, which includes the original short story by Edward Bryant. This movie has a 4.8 rating so I don't know if I'll bother to see it but I might. I'm curious how closely the film follows the story and if it's well executed. Anyone else read the story or see the segment in the Hidden Room anthology?
