What's your favorite middle-east war movie

This movie was fantastic. Mainly due to Jeremy Renner's oscar-worthy performance. Yet, I feel it comes second to comes second to Jarhead.
I'd place American Sniper third.
What about u?

His hands remember the rifle.

A good list, but I bet that most people would think of movies about the recent wars in the Mid East.

But you do have a very good point. Lawrence of Arabia is one the greatest movie ever and is indeed about the very beginnings of the middle east wars of our time.

I really like the movie Tears of The Sun. It does not take ace in the Middle East but rather in Africa. But the bad guys are violent Muslims and it takes place in modern times.

I also like Argo which takes places in Iran revolution in the 70s. I don't know if you saw it, but despite Ben Affleck being in it it is very good.

Black Hawk Down while a fantastic movie I don't think qualifies as a Middle East war movie since it takes place in East Africa.

Hurt Locker is my favorite movie that qualifies for this list. I also like Jarhead and Three Kings but very little actual fighting between US Army in a traditional war scenario in either of those movies.

I liked The Hurt Locker, but I'm going to have to say that American Sniper was a better film. It was better directed. It showed the effects of war on a person's psychology better than HL did. It may get have been derided as too much propaganda, and some people don't like Chris Kyle very much, but I think that AS was the better movie.

I liked Jarhead and Lone Survivor as well. Lawrence of Arabia is the best film that everybody's heard of but nobody watches. RIP Omar Sherif and Peter O'toole.

The Kingdom is the best movie about the Middle East
