Is it cancelled already?

For the second week in a row my TV guide says its on but when I turn to Fox News channel a show called "The Line-Up" appears. I guess Conservatism's exercise in fighting back with humor is over.

Maybe they'll bring back Guy White as a Saturday-morning cartoon.

Guy White was never funny.

For awhile I could not help but wonder, however unfunny it may have been, if Guy White was not the story of my life:))

You mean your co-workers made you wear Muslim headgear and pronounce Spanish words with accents?

"I do not like bombs that go blam! I do not like them, Saddam-I-Am!"

reply

Well, no. But to a less extreme, yeah my high school years were alot like it. I had to call it 'Winter Break' as opposed to 'Christmas Break' (even as Ramadan got strong mention on the morning announcements) if I mentioned George W. Bush's name people talk about how he's racist, anti-science, and Nazi-like, as well as his party.

I fondly remember my 12th grade english class, with us watching "fahrenheit 9/11" and 10th grade sociology class, watching "The Awful Truth", as well as my speech class in 11th grade seeing portions of "Bowling for Columbine". In that same english class my teacher gladly trashed Fundamentalist Christians as well as southerners. Ironically, I cannot recall a single instance in which he trashed Muslim terrorists.

While it was a great struggle to get an Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my high school, the Free Thinkers Society was given approval by the powers that be almost as soon as it was proposed. I could go on, but it gets kind of repetitive from there.

Interesting. But I imagine this is an exception to the norm.

"I had to call it 'Winter Break' as opposed to 'Christmas Break'"

BS. No one stopped you from saying Christmas. You conservatives only make yourselves look like bigger jokes with lies like this.

reply

Lies? Have you ever seen a public school calendar? Besides, when you accuse someone of lying you should really have alot more evidence than the letters "BS".

Sorry, Mc, but you do seem to be a chronic whiner.

Poor widdle, jebus-lovin' whites are pilloried for their Saturnalia observances? What is the world coming to?!

reply

A chronic whiner? All I wanted to know was whether or not the 1/2 newshour was cancelled. It apparently is.

I find it interesting that people like you listen to every word from atheists when they say mentions of God are unconstitutional but when I mention experiences from my life I'm a "whiner".

I believe we call that hypocrisy.

You know, it's funny. I try to stay in the middle as much as possible, but from what I see, it's right wing people like yourself that always complain and screw things up. You should be happy for your experience, because it is indeed rare. Throughout high school, I was barraged with constant comments on atheism meant to annoy me, because I was a Christian. Not opinions, comments meant to offend. Also, there was a really good mix of people in my school, but they didn't mention Ramadan, I heard about it through my Muslim friends. All in all, I'm glad that I had a high school experience outside of the norm. You should at least appreciate yours.

reply

And I am grateful for much of my high school experiences. I do not mind diversity; I mind it being deemed the highest virtue. Whenever I fired back at the ridiculousness of the one-sidedness of the environment I was in, it was indeed typically my African and Middle Eastern friends who took my side all the while my fellow American Christians took the other.

Experience through those years has also led me to know that the lamentations of right-wingers are far outnumbered by the lamentations of left-wingers. There are entire websites devoted to complaining about "the religious right" and all their endeavors at world domination. All I have done is post a couple comments on an obscure message board. How can those two be compared?

And a big baby...

"Lies? Have you ever seen a public school calendar?"

Yes, I have. Irregardless of what it said, people were somehow magically allowed to say Christmas. If the basis of your claim is that you couldn't say Christmas due to what some calender said you're an even bigger idiot than the average conservative.

Irregardless" is not a word. Buy a dictionary. (Typical liberal)

Translation = I think in stereotypes. No matter how smart I think I am, I have not matured past that point yet. Everything is black and white to me. I am a sad little (er...) boy, soon to grow up into a sad (certainly NOT little) man. I would like to thank Ripley for pointing this out to me, although the concept will not actually penetrate my brain through all the twinkie and ho-ho sludge for a couple of years from now. REGARDLESS, I will still be indebted to him.

There ya go, porkchop. That better?

"Irregardless" is not a word. Buy a dictionary."

It is a word and is in the dictionary. Now it's considered nonstandard by grammar police, but it's been in common usage for quite some time, since around the 1920s, which is all that is needed for it to be considered "a word" and added to the dictionary. To quote a bit of the Merriam Webster dictionary:

"The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however."

Make sure to read that second phrase. I think that's what the kids on the internet called being pwned.

"(Typical liberal)"

I'm a Liberal? Since when? Wow this is news to me. It's amazing how in the world of the conservative mind you're either a Conservative or a "Librul". Apparently their minds are too simple to grasp nuanced political positions.

reply

Also republicans (like your mentally retarded president) do that. In fact they do it more. Aw, hell lets just put it out there : Republicans are mentally and socially retarded tools.

reply

LOL - and you're an America hating, communist idiot.

Aren't stereotypes great?

reply

I was suspended out of school for saying "Merry Christmas" because a teacher who's classroom was full of kwanza crap took offence to it

reply

Yeah, I'm sure you were. NOT.

reply

The show has been officially cancelled (per Rush Limbaugh on 13 November 2007)
Only 17 Episodes exist.

reply

Shucks. I would've loved to see it stay on the air. Between it and "Red Eye", Fox has/had two of the worst shows on TV.

Maybe FBN will be next.

reply

You can look forward to it being put on DVD. Unlike The Daily Show, which is difficult to put on DVD because it's all news stories that lose something if they're outdated, 1/2 Hour is already retrograde enough to (not) work years from now.
