How much they've changed this game, if you had never played the originals before you'd never know they're the same game..I rented it yesterday, & I've already beaten it...I like it a lot, but I still love the originals. What about you guys?

shareI absolutely love the direction Spyro is going in it. And the voices they used for Spyro and Sparx are perfect. Making Elijah Wood voice Spyro was the best idea ever for the first time ever I feel like I can feel what Spyro is feeling and it`s great hopefully if or when they make a new game it will be the same voices

I'm sure you've heard complaints ( especially from previous Spyro fans ) about this game. Yes, it's true ; Spyro HAS changed entierly. It's 100% different then all the other games. I think it's safe to say that it's a new series. But that doesn't mean it's not good. The originals were dazzling and amazing. But this one is ( in my opinion ) even better.
It's like a movie : full 3-D movie clips very often and a deep storyline. The fighting in this game is amazing too. There's alot of humour thrown in there also. It's a new and different version of Spyro. Never forget the originals, but don't forget to leave room for this amazing game. Perhaps certain Spyro fans won't like it, so rent it before you buy it. But I've loved Spyro since 1999, and my opinion should be taken seriously : this game is G-O-O-D.
The graphics are so good I felt like crying. and Spyro is soooooo cutesy looking with a cutesy little voice and a brave attitude that says : look out world, i'm ready!

If the developers plan on going in this new direction, and I hope they do. I really hope they go to a "Zelda" sort of feel. For example: Big open areas, large plots, long game time, and just tons of small things to do. This would make for a epic game. The idea of a little purple dragon is too original to let go after this recent release. Great game by the way.

Well actually that's a matter of opinion. Personally I think that the Spyro games in general (excluding Enter The Dragonfly and the GBA games) are 100 times better than ANY Zelda game. Twilight Princess was alright, but in my mind just doesnt compare to the charm of Spyro.
Anyway. I really like this game. Ive been a fan since the very first game and, yes, it's a VERY different sorta game compared to the original three (the best in my opinion), but that isnt a bad thing. The new battle system is awesome. Im really loving the controls and the different attacks you can use. The breaths are impressive, though it kinda sucks they run out. The story is great and IMO better than the plots of the original three. The voices are great. Elijah as Spyro.. that's just perfect <3 It took me a while to get used to Sparx as Spyro's comedic sidekick, but he's actually pretty funny once you get over how cute Sparx used to be lol
So yeah, I'd give it 8/10, just below my 9-10/10 for the original three :]
I agree with you two 100%. I love the turn Spyro has taken, and I think it is about time he moved p in the world. The music and actors were great. and the music was wonderful. I do, however, wish the game was a little longer. But the graphics amazed me to no end. I love knowing what his emotions are, and how they made the point: Size doesn't matter!
I look forward to the final game of the trilogy, and I hope it is as epic as the first two.

DAVID SPADE???? Does no one else miss the cute, innocent little Sparx with the buzzy voice and big eyes MINUS the whiny attitude?
and the Spyro redesign! No one else finds this a serious downgrade? He looks completely stupid and has none of the endearing, feline qualities of his old look. What's with the bug-eyes and the crooked mouth?
I also missed the beautifully designed, colorful worlds of old Spyro. Nothing can be left simple and innocent. Spyro has to get all dark and ugly. I miss finding jewels and entering portals and saving dragons - all of what made the game so appealing in the first place. But I think I'm definitely in the minority
i played the new games a few times it sucked my friend loves this game so much i haver no idea why and i would rather stick to my playstation spyro games i loved how you have the little spyro and the cool one in ripto's rage and acutally i have the third spyro but it doesn't work in my playstaion. i'am very disappoined in how now the voices have to be played by high known stars it completly ruins everything plus the format is changed
