Wasn't this movie supposed to be based on a book?

I remember reading a book (forgot the name) and then hearing a few months later that Jessica Simpson had been slated to star in a movie based on it (except the book was about a rich girl named Katya who worked as a housekeeper at a hotel and I think it took place in Arizona).

I looked in the trivia but it doesn't say it was based on a book. The book was pretty funny, I wish I could remember the name. If anyone knows what I'm talking about can they post the name of the book?
