Good movie

Good acting...lovely story telling, subtle humour, some gentle poking of fun at the industry...

supporters of good cinema and new talent pls go see this.

Did anyone know Amit Paul sang the song picturised on Farhan and Isha Sharvani at the outdoorlocation shooting where they begin their affair? Hats off to Javed Akhtar for this his kindgesture in promoting new talent.

What i liked about this movie is its a movie where one does not get embarassed to watch scenes with their family. There must have been ample opportunities to shoot a cheap scene or two, like in the Ishar seducing Farhan scene or the casting couch syndrome....but, no. Zoya has proved her mettle by not resorting to anything cheap while shooting this movie on this industry which has its share of sleaze.

A must see for lovers of good cinema..and Konkona? as usual mindblowing!

Completely agree. This is a movie made with style, but a lot of restraint. This is also a movie with several threads still left open... like the scene with Choudhary when he realizes Sona was Vikram's girlfriend, and the end... I still find myself wondering why Sona did that at the end... she obviously likes Vikram, but was that line about "kuchch log hote hi aise hai" more to herself, than to Vikram? Obviously she was still hurting, but in classic style, she ended up hurting him more than herself... perhaps.

But everything else was absolutely in place. All the stars were shown respectable, and they acted with such humility... Rishi Kapoor's poignant moment, Dimple's sharp retort - its filled with their own real life experiences, not just the character.

Farhan Akhtar to me is a revelation - so close on the heels of Rock On - he plays a similar role - its a hard road to success, and you have to compromise. This kinda seems his own motto for life; given that he only started in 2001, its hard to see how much he has scaled in these last 8 years; starting as a Writer / Director, then a Producer, then a Singer, Songwriter and an actor... amazing evolution and commitment to the craft.

Goes right up in the most favs section with Sarfarosh, Dil Chahta Hai...

I'm glad that Vikram and Sona did not get back together in the end, it would have been so cliched! When they showed Vikram going to Sona's set to meet her, I thought "oh no, the movie till now has been pretty good, they're gonna ruin it by showing the expected - the hero and heroine getting back together in the end". But that didn't happen and I thought it added a realistic touch to it.
