What happened to gay partner, in season 3??

Season 3 startes with so much confusion.... Where is the rest of the police staff from season 1&2? Especially Mike's partner!? I thought he was the only likable and believable character in the entire show.... This had lots of eerie, spooky and interesting elements, but over all, very unlivable characters that were more annoying than anything.

In the first episode of season 3 Sadie asks, "Where's Tom?"
Mike replies, "In Costa Rica on his honeymoon."
Glen was suspended at the end of season two. Not sure about Roxy from seasons 1&2, but season 3 takes place "years" later, so there's no way to know. Sometimes you can find out about a character from a show by googling the name of a character plus the show and reading the results.
